Cost per Bet
Work out the average cost of a bet, then simulate 20 or 1,000 attempts. See how far a lucky run can stray from that average.
How to play
- Read the printed scenario. Identify its cost, probability and total return.
- Students calculate the expected net independently, then compare their reasoning in pairs.
- Change only the total return. Find the return that makes the expected net zero.
Expected net is a probability-weighted average. Total return includes the original stake.
